Durante la Star Wars Celebration 2025 Lucasfilm ha annunciato Maul – Shadow Lord, nuova serie animata con protagonista Darth Maul (il Sith interpretato da Ray Park nel film La Minaccia Fantasma del 1999).
Maul – Shadow Lord sarà ambientata nel periodo che intercorre tra La Vendetta dei Sith del 2005 e la serie animata Star Wars: Rebels (2014-2018), e racconterà la storia di Darth Maul alle prese con un apprendista Sith. Uscirà in streaming su Disney+ nel 2026.

Maul – Shadow Lord sarà prodotta da Dave Filoni (showrunner di Star Wars: The Clone Wars e di The Mandalorian) e avrà la voce di Sam Witwer, che ha doppiato Maul nelle precedenti serie animate e che sostituisce Ray Park in seguito alle accuse di revenge porn.
