Sono disponibili su Prime Video i primi quattro episodi della stagione 4 di The Boys, l’acclamata serie Prime Video creata dallo showrunner Eric Kripke e basata sui fumetti di Garth Ennis. Nel frattempo la serie è stata rinnovata per la stagione 5, attualmente in fase di sviluppo, che sarà l’ultima.
Lo showrunner aveva promesso una performance da Emmy Award (i principali premi di riferimento per il settore televisivo) da parte di Antony Starr nell’episodio uscito giovedì… e, secondo molti fan, ha mantenuto del tutto le promesse.
Sui social, tantissimi utenti sono rimasti impressionati dalla performance dell’attore nei panni di Patriota, il grande protagonista dell’episodio, e già lo reputano come uno dei principali contendenti per Emmy Award al miglior attore. C’è addirittura chi lo definisce “meglio del Joker di Heat Ledger”.

Basato sul fumetto best-seller del New York Times creato da Garth Ennis e Darick Robertson, qui in veste anche di executive producer, The Boys è una serie di Prime Video sviluppata dall’executive producer e showrunner Eric Kripke. Tra gli altri executive producer anche Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg e Michaela Starr.
Questa la sinossi ufficiale:
«The Boys offre una versione divertente e irriverente di ciò che accade quando i supereroi – famosi come celebrità, influenti come politici e venerati come Dei – abusano dei propri poteri invece di usarli per fare del bene. Intenti a fermare i supereroi corrotti sono i The Boys, un gruppo di vigilanti che porta avanti un’impresa eroica per svelare la verità sui Sette e su Vought – la società multimiliardaria che gestisce questi supereroi e che copre tutti i loro sporchi segreti. È una lotta tra i “senza potere” e i “potentissimi”».
