Alcune settimane fa sono iniziate le riprese del film sui Thunderbolts, il nuovo cinecomic dei Marvel Studios con protagonisti Florence Pugh (Yelena), Sebastian Stan (Bucky) e Wyatt Russell (US Agent), che uscirà al cinema il 2 maggio 2025.
Con il primo video dal set pubblicato da Florence Pugh, è stato svelato che il titolo del film è stato aggiornato in Thunderbolts*, con un misterioso asterisco finale. Durante la CinemaCon, il presidente dei Marvel Studios Kevin Feige ha parlato proprio del cambio di titolo, spiegando che la risposta arriverà soltanto nella pellicola:
Avete notato un asterisco alla fine del titolo. Sì, questo è il titolo ufficiale del film. Ma non parleremo di quell’asterisco finché il film non uscirà…
Questo ha inevitabilmente dato vita a numerose speculazioni e, secondo molti fan, il film potrebbe avere un titolo segreto: Dark Avengers.
Oltre al misterioso asterisco, la teoria è nata a seguito della prima clip di Captain America: Brave New World, dove il Generale Ross invita Sam Wilson a realizzare una nuova formazione degli Avengers, palesando l’intenzione di avere un nuovo gruppo di eroi.
Da qui sono nate le teorie dei fan, secondo i quali il piano del Generale Ross potrebbe concretizzarsi nel film dei Thunderbolts… dove nominerà i protagonisti come Dark Avengers.

It is assumed that "THUNDERBOLTS*" will be renamed "Dark Avengers" at the end of the film because of the asterisk.

Nel cast tornano Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier), Wyatt Russell (John Walker/U.S. Agent), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Olga Kurylenko (Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster), David Harbour (Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian), Hannah John-Kamen (Ava Starr/Ghost) e Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine). Tra le new entry Lewis Pullman (Sentry) e Geraldine Viswanathan.
